How much is a taxi from Heathrow to Central London?
With us it is a fixed £56 in a saloon from Heathrow to Covent Garden, or £55 going the other way, for up to three passengers. An MPV for five is £78. A metered black cab is £70 to £120 on TfL’s 2026 fare card. The £18 Congestion Charge is added only when a trip starts inside the zone while it is in force.
Is it cheaper to book a Heathrow taxi in advance?
Usually, yes. A pre-booked fare is fixed, so traffic on the M4 cannot push it up, while a black cab from the rank runs on the meter and app prices can surge when many flights land together.
Is Uber allowed at Heathrow?
Yes. Uber picks up from set areas in the terminal short-stay car parks rather than inside the terminal; at Terminal 5 it is Level 1. Prices are set when you request the ride and can rise at busy times. A pre-booked taxi has a fixed price and the driver meets you in arrivals.
How much is an Uber from Heathrow to Central London?
Uber does not publish a fixed Heathrow fare: the app shows a price when you request the ride, and it changes with demand, time of day and the type of car. Pickup is in the terminal car park. With us, Heathrow to Covent Garden is a fixed £56 in a saloon, with your driver waiting inside arrivals.
Where do I get a taxi or cab at Heathrow?
Black cabs wait at ranks outside arrivals at every terminal; follow the taxi signs. A pre-booked taxi meets you inside the terminal instead, at Heathrow’s meeting points, and walks you to the car.
Where does my driver meet me at Heathrow?
In arrivals, at the official meeting point of the terminal you land at; the terminal guide on this page shows each one. Your driver holds a board with your name, and the first hour after landing is free.
What happens if my flight to Heathrow is delayed?
Nothing changes for you. We follow your flight number, so the pickup moves with the real landing time, and the 60 minutes of free waiting start when you land, not at the time on your ticket.
Is the Heathrow drop-off charge included?
Yes. Heathrow charges £7 each time a vehicle uses a terminal drop-off zone (since 1 January 2026). It is already in our fares to the airport, so there is nothing to pay on the day.
How long does a taxi from Heathrow to Central London take?
Usually 45 to 75 minutes, depending on traffic and where in London you are going. Late at night it can be closer to 40 minutes; weekday rush hours are the slowest.
How early should my taxi pick me up for a Heathrow flight?
Work back from your airline’s advice, often about three hours before a long-haul flight and two before a short-haul one, then add the journey time and a margin for traffic. Our booking form lets you choose the exact pickup time.
Do you charge more at night or on bank holidays?
No. The fare is the same at any hour, including early-morning flights, late arrivals, bank holidays and Christmas, which helps after the last trains have left.
Are child seats free on Heathrow transfers?
Yes. Baby seats, child seats and boosters cost nothing, up to two per vehicle. Add the children’s ages when you book and the seats are fitted before pickup.
What size taxi do I need for Heathrow?
A saloon takes three passengers and three large cases, an estate four and four, an MPV five passengers and four cases, and an 8-seater seven and seven. Larger groups get two cars that leave together.
Can I cancel a Heathrow taxi booking?
Yes, free of charge up to 12 hours before pickup.
How can I pay for my Heathrow taxi?
